EDUCATION
Raza studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science for his law degree and at University College London for his masters in Banking and Finance Law.
Raza is admitted practice law in Pakistan and has been Called to the Bar of England and Wales at the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.

Establishment of the Al Hilal Bank GCC Equity Fund which provided retail investors (GCC residents) with a long-term investment in a diversified portfolio of Shariah-compliant GCC region equities.
Establishment of the Sharia compliant USD 100 Million Al Wataniya Fund which was a fund established as a partnership between Al Hilal Bank and Abu Dhabi Investment House to finance the commercial sector in the United Arab Emirates.
Member of the taskforce from Al Hilal Bank created to launch Al Hilal Bank’s subsidiary in the Republic of Kazakhstan from inception till obtaining the banking license and subsequent training of the staff in Kazakhstan on the implementation of the Islamic products.
USD 1.1 Billion financing of the Zayed University public-private partnership(PPP) project for Mubadala.
USD 1.1 Billion financing of Emirates Steel Industries.
PROJECTS WORKED ON
Lead counsel on policy level issues for the Legal Department of Engro Corporation Limited (“ENGRO”)including acting as the chair for the sub-committee formed by the OICCI on revamping the legal framework in Pakistan.
Advising on legal strategy for large transactions overseen by the Strategy Department of ENGRO.
Heading up the litigation function at ENGRO and revamping the entire litigation management process.
